What size of room do I need ?

A full size snooker or pool cue is approximately 57", therefore we normally recommend that a customer should have five feet around the playing area size of the table in question. For example, a 7ft league size pool table has a playing area of 6ft x 3ft (external size of table is 7ft x 4ft) this means that a comfortable room size would be 16ft x 13ft.The external size of any table is not as crucial as you only play shots on the useable playing area.n many cases however, supplying a slightly shorter cue can solve many cueing problems.We can supply shorter cues in sizes of 36", 42", 48" and 52".Please see our room size chart that displays the appropriate room sizes for many different sizes and styles of table, please click here to view this table. How flexible are Birmingham Billiards in regards to the overall table styling?

We offer a very bespoke service and customers can choose their unique cloth colour
wood finish colour, as well as the timber that the snooker table or pool table is manufactured from. Customers are also very welocome to put forward their own views in regards to styling and Birmingham Billiards can tailor make each table in accordance with this.We also offer table accessories that will compliment each table style.

How much do snooker tables weigh ?

we manufacture Snooker tables in 6', 7', 8', 9', 10', 11' and 12 foot table sizes. A full size snooker table weighs approximately 1000 kilograms, smaller size table will decrease in weight. A 6' snooker table would weigh approximately 350 kilos.

How much do pool tables weigh?

The weight of a pool table will vary depending on the manufacturer, however a regular 7ft leage size pool table will weigh approximately 250 kilos

Do snooker and pool tables take much looking after?

With a minimum amount of care, a Birmingham Billiards snooker table or pool table will stand the test of time and will be in existence for many many years.The polished surfaces are finished professionaly and only need to be wiped over with damp cloth - no polish products are needed to enhance the finish as we only use the best polishing products and equipment to finish all of our snooker and pool tables. we only use the best quality snooker table cloth baize and with occasonal brushing (to keep dust particles to a minimum) this will last several years even with regular useage. All other components such as cushion rubbers, pocket plates, construction parts again are the finest available and will not perish or wear prematurely.

Do Birmingham Billiards deliver and install all of their tables?

Birmingham Billiards use their own trained and qualified table fitters. Some tables will require more assembly than others. Typically a 7ft league size pool table will take around 1 hour to install and level. However, larger snooker tables will involve more installation as they are built completely on sight, normally this will invlove 4-5 hours installation time. The access into the games room will also be considered as this sometimes can add extra installation time.in any case, our table fitters will always enquier into exactly where the customer would like the snooker table or pool table. They will also offer their own expert advise in regards to maxmising the cueing room around the table.


Can snooker and pool tables be moved after they have been installed?

Does a snooker or pool table need to have a slate bed ?

Slate is a heavy and smooth natural material. It is such a good material to use as it is very stable and can be sanded to an exremely smooth and accurate finish. It will withstand all of the elemants is unaffected by temperature. For these reasons slate is the best material to use for a serious playing table.However, there are also many slate quarries in the world and not all of them supply good quality slate. All of our snooker tables and pool tables are manufactured only with italian precision bench ground slate, developed to precise standards and supplied in matching sets.
