Paul Hunter English Open
The Paul Hunter English Open is a tournament which is held in tribute to the three times Masters champion who died of cancer in 2006.
The tournament took place in the Northern snooker centre in Leeds, where Hunter often practised during his professional career.
The tournament attracted 100 entries with the initial stages played in 25 four man round robbing groups.
After having dropped off the professional circuit in May after one season the 19 year old Chinese player Xiao Guodong defeated Ben Woollaston 6 – 2 in the final to win.
Guodong has also won the Pontins International Open Series Event 2.
