Filed under: Tournament Results, Snooker news — admin @ 11:29 pm

Mark Selby beat defending champion Ronnie O’Sullivan in the final of the Masters on Sunday 17th January. Selby who has the nickname “Jester from Leicester” beat O’Sullivan by 10-9 at Wembley even after O‘Sullivan took an early 4-1 lead. Breaks of 122 and also 101 helped O’Sullivan get this early lead.

Mark Selby beat Stephen Maguire 6 - 3 to gain his place in the final and O’Sullivan beat Mark Williams 6 - 5 to face Selby.

This title will be Selby’s third in 3 years. Selby remained composed even with the huge support that was there for O’Sullivan. Selby thanks his girlfriend for being his ‘rock’ and helping him turn his career around.

Birmingham Billiards would like to congratulate Mark Selby on his victory.

We look forward to the next competition.
