Best Career Highlight to date:
Day's best career highlight to date came in 2001 at the B&H Championship when he beat Hugh Abernethy in the final to earn the wild card place in the masters. Day won against Dave Harols 6-3 in the first round, before losing 6-0 to Stephen Hendry. After that season Day was awarded the WPBSA (World Professional Billiards And Snooker Association) Newcomer of the Year award.
Most recent season review : 2008/09 Season
Once again, for the third successive season Day reached a ranking final, however failed to win his first title. At the Royal London Watches Grand Prix in Glasgow day beat Ricky Walden 5-4, Mark Selby 5-4, Jamie Cope 5-1 and Ali Carter 6-5 to reach the final against John Higgins where unfortunately Day lost.
Day reached the semi final of the Bank Of Beijing China Open where he once again lost to Higgins.
Day reached the quarter finals of the Betfred.com World Snooker Championship, however didn't reach the semi finals as he lost a close 13-11 match to Mark Allen.
Regardless of not winning a title Day finished the season in a respectable position 6 in the World rankings.

Day has a daughter Francesca who his wife Lyndsey gave birth to in August 2006. Being good at sport runs in Day's family, his younger brither Rhys played football for Manchester City and the Welsh under 21 team.
Day and his father run The Vetz Club in Pontycymmer, which is a snooker club and public bar.
