Lisowski Wins The First Pontin’s International Open Series

This season's WPBSA Paul Hunter Scholar Jack Lisowski has won the first Pontin’s International Open Series event of the season, Lisowski beat Liam Highfield 6-5 in the final.

Lisowski only turned 18 years old last thursday, he gained a 4-2 lead with a top run of 79, before Highfield pulled back to all square.

The second PIOS event starts on July 27th.

Hendry Leads Prize Money List By £2.5M

At the end of the 2008/09 season the seven times world champion Stephen Hendry is leading the Snooker Prize Money List by £2.5M.

Hendry has amassed £8,669,910, which is £2,532,150 more than Ronnie O’Sullivan. O’Sullivan replaced Steve Davis at the number 2 spot last year. Even if Hendry were to retire now, it would take consecutive seasons of large prize monies for O’Sullivan to beat his record.
