Junhui reached the last 16 of every ranking event other than one, this was the Royal London Watches Grand Prix. However he only went on to the quarter finals in one tournament, the Maplin UK Championship.
The end to the season was more positive when Junhui won a match in the televised stages of the 888.com World Snooker Championship for the first time. He was drawn against Marco Fu at the Crucible.
